Our client, a hospital licensed with the Ministry of Health and fully accredited (CAAASF) surgical unit with over 60 years of service in the community has a requirement for experienced Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses. There are currently permanent fully time and part time casual opportunities available in the operating room.
Our nurses provide excellent patient care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of providers collaborating on assessment, education, prevention and restoration of patient heath. Experience in the operating for scrubbing circulating in the OR is required. Specialties include Orthopaedics, Plastics, Bariatrics, Ophthalmology (cataracts), ENT, Urology and others as required.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes pay I lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
Education:
- Registered Nurse with current Certification of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- OR certification from an accredited college program acquired within the last year
- Certificate required
- Current BCLS required
Qualifications
- 2-4 years recent experience in an Acute Care Surgical Suite / Ambulatory environment including assistance with scrubbing, circulating or providing retraction/abdominal thrust, ambulatory services as well as endoscopy, urology and minor surgery
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with the surgical / ambulatory unit in order to maintain patient flow
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical and ambulatory procedures and the continuum of care for the surgical patient
- Demonstrated ability to set up and care for minor surgery procedures and anticipate patient and physicians needs
- Commitment to ongoing education and collaboration with highly skilled interdisciplinary teams focused on meeting the unique needs of the surgical patient
- Ability to work in a moderately physical environment requiring lifting, walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling of equipment and stretchers
- Demonstrated ability to implement plan of care including independent and interdependent nursing needs

Manager, Clinical Services Toronto, ON
Our client, a fully accredited (CAAASF) surgical unit with over 50 years of service in the community has a requirement for an experienced clinical leader. The Manager, Clinical Services is a hands on manager accountable for the organization, integration, coordination and operations of all clinical programs and services offered at or through the facility.
The Manager Clinical Services is accountable for the overall clinical leadership of the facility in accordance with the mission, policies, values, standards and objectives established by senior management, legislative, regulatory and other independent bodies. This role reports to the Director of Operations, Medical Director & Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Human resource management through effective selection, staff orientation, development, performance evaluation, certification and qualification adherence
- Organizational management of all clinical programs, services and staff, including surgical scheduling, clinical resourcing, drafting operational policy / procedures and monitoring health and safety measures
- Patient care management by developing and coordinating personnel orientation, education, continuous quality of care standard, outcome evaluation measures and maintenance of post operative protocols
- Quality assurance/Risk management by coordinating and facilitating annual staff training, maintaining inventory and equipment supplies, investigating and resolving patient complaints in accordance with internal policy
- Financial management by participation in the development and monitoring of annual and special operating budgets with preparation of monthly reports analyzing and interpreting statistical data
- Equipment management sourcing new and replacement equipment, securing quotes and maintaining maintenance contracts.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nursing Professionals
- Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent years of experience
- Masters degree in nursing, business or other relevant areas an asset
- 8-10 years of directly related OR and PACU experience
- Progressive demonstrated responsibility and clinical management competence
- Demonstrated team leadership abilities, goal orientated
- Effective oral and written communication skills, demonstrated report writing skills and computer program knowledge (Microsoft)

In this role you are required to guide patients towards increased functional recovery and a return to work. You would work as part of an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals including physicians, surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, pharmacists and kinesiologists. Conditions include anxiety, depression, PTSD, persistent pain, concussion, and ABI amongst others.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Psychology
- Registration for Independent Practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with areas of practice in Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation (preferred) with no restrictions on license, in good standing required
- Minimum two years experience
- Experience in rehabilitation within a third-party payor system
- Clinical Psychologists require experience in providing interventions that include CBT, DBT and Trauma
- Membership in OPA or CPA preferred
- Experience and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
